Special Events at Briar PatchNestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Shenandoah Valley, is Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast Inn, a Middleburg, Virginia bed and breakfast, offering charm and hospitality to match its historic location.  Briar Patch is a historic farm (circa 1805) on 47 rolling acres with majestic mountain views.  Located in Loudoun County, we are in the heart of Virginia horse, antiques, and wine country on Route 50 (John Mosby Highway), 4 miles east of the town of Middleburg.  Just 20 minutes from Dulles Airport and about an hour from Washington, DC – when you enter our world, you leave the stress behind.

Welcome to our website.  We hope you enjoy learning about our bed & breakfast as much as we enjoy running it.  We have spent several years bringing this property back to its old glory – renovating the main house, cottage, pool, and grounds.

Most recently, we have turned the old tractor shed barn into a magnificent site that we call The Fox Den at Briar Patch for social functions such as weddings, parties, family reunions, fundraisers, and the like, as well as for business and other organization meetings.  Future plans call for turning a former chicken coop into another cottage with suites and some fun landscaping projects.  Stay tuned for developments!

Cooking Classes at Briar Patch - Next class Jan. 30-Feb. 1, 2009Cooking classes

Briar Patch hosts cooking class weekends about once a month from November through March.  Cooking class weekends begin on Friday evening when guests meet the chef and an expert from a local winery, who will treat you to appetizers accompanied by a tasting of Virginia wines.  On Saturday morning, after a full breakfast, you can enjoy exploring Loudoun County on your own or take a van tour of local wineries.  In the early evening, our chef conducts a cooking class in our event building -- The Fox Den at Briar Patch -- where guests help prepare (and yes, consume) a 4- or 5-course meal with wine.  The weekend concludes with another full breakfast on Sunday morning.  For more information and dates please visit our Cooking Classes at Briar Patch page.
